The all-new Land Rover Discovery has been one of the most awaited luxury SUVs to hit our market. Taking the classic Land Rover Discovery and re-imagining it for the 21st century has resulted in creating a vehicle that is absolutely stunning despite its imposing size and boasts of being extremely versatile and capable too.

Designed to appeal
The 5th generation Discovery follows the design language we have seen on other Land Rover products such as the Discovery Sport which includes a strong dynamic stance, wrap-around LED lights and a fast windscreen angle. Trademark design elements such as the stepped roofline and cut on the rear door have been carried over with a modern twist which gives you a sense of familiarity, yet allows the new vehicle to have distinct modern appeal.

Under the hood
Land Rover has kept with the Discovery’s genes—of being a vehicle that has a following globally for being extremely rugged and versatile—while offering you oodles of creature comforts to ensure that you are never left wanting. The new automobile carries this forward with a slew of intelligent systems that help optimize interior space such as the world’s first Intelligent Seat Fold system enables configuring the seating arrangement from inside the vehicle, thus providing tons of luggage space (when required). The tailgate can be opened via gesture control too.

Add to that, the car’s cabin has been kitted out with the finest materials to ensure you are pampered and the list of convenience elements include deep consoles to store up to five mini-tablets and two (litre) bottles in the armrest chiller. You also get a staggering nine USB ports to allow every single passenger and more to keep their devices charged. Last but not the least; the vehicle also comes with an Activity Key that you can wear as a wristband.

Performance factor
The all-new Discovery is being offered with a choice of two engines, namely, the 3.0-litre diesel unit that delivers 254 bhp and 600 Nm of torque and a 3.0-litre petrol engine that delivers 335 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. It gets a permanent four-wheel drive, has a 34-degree approach angle and 30-degree departure angle and ride height control to ensure it can traverse over some of the roughest terrains with ease.

The automobile also benefits from the state of the art All-Terrain Progress Control system that enhances control over challenging surfaces and you also get Land Rover’s iconic Terrain Response 2 that allows for multiple driving modes to ensure you are never caught off-guard in a tough situation. Pricing on the new Discovery starts at `71.38 lakh (ex-showroom).
