Bengaluru’s DJ duo Answer get ready for a performance with Blasterjaxx

When they first started off four years ago, a DJ duo, Answer, was faced with a conundrum – who was going to open and close the set? However, their decision to go back to back on the set helped them climb the charts and get noticed among Electronic Dance Music (EDM) lovers in the country.
Popularly known as ANS, these Bengaluru-based boys – Arjun Nair and Nishanth Naidu, will be supporting artistes for the Blasterjaxx concert, scheduled this Sunday. “ANS is a shorter version of our names together. Arjun Nair and Stallion (Nishanth Naidu),” explains Arjun. This is their second performance with the Dutch record producers, Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf, the first being a recent concert in the Philippines.

With more than 50 original mashups, bootlegs and remixes in their bag, the pair has performed alongside 40 international artistes including Dash Berlin, Sander Van Doorn, Firebeatz, Quintino, Bassjackers, Headhunterz, and Andrew Rayel. “Even before we knew it, we were doing full house shows in a row in many cities. People associated with our music quickly and that was a good sign,” says the 29-year-old. Their ability to adapt and captivate audiences through their tight and energetic sets is what makes them one of the preferred artistes for music brands touring the country. Having said this, it comes as a surprise that both Arjun and Nishanth are self-taught DJs. Ever since their childhood, the two followed dance music. When they decided to work together, they did some research, an add-on to their already existing idea of this music space. However, Arjun agrees that experience made them better.

Visiting Hyderabad for the fourth time around, the duo will bring fresh groovy house music with a power-packed performance-driven set. “Each time we visit Hyderabad, we get a better response. We’ve, literally, seen the city’s music scene evolve over the last few years,” says Arjun, adding that they have also planned an audio-visual set this time, especially for the city’s party goers.

As for their future plans, they have three unreleased tracks in the pipeline and a handful of international gigs. Apart from this, they also have a surprise in store for their fans – a music experience titled Enter Future.
