After five successful editions in Bengaluru, theatre group Tahatto is organising their workshop, Act One, for the first time in Hyderabad, this weekend. With two sessions on Saturday and Sunday each, this introductory workshop aims to help beginners understand the essence of theatre. Hosted by one of the four
founders Piyush Agarwal and his team, the two-day event will not just cover acting, but also focus on other theatrical aspects like direction and production. “The idea of this workshop is to help people get past their inhibitions and stage-fear, and theatre is our medium to bring them together,” says the Bengaluru-based artiste and full-time corporate professional.

Tahatto had staged two plays in Hyderabad earlier this year — Remember Remember and A Funny Thing Called Life, both of which were well received by the audience. “We were happy with the feedback and decided to get our workshop to the city,” he adds. During the sessions, Piyush and his team will conduct about 15 activities that explore various elements of theatre and personality development. “Throughout the workshop, participants will be engaged in physical activities. There are no theory classes,” shares Piyush. Having conducted five such workshops before, Piyush says that the idea is to let people explore their abilities and passions. “It’s not necessary for anybody to join theatre after this workshop. Some of our participants from previous sessions have pursued other art forms like dance,” he adds.

Tickets: Rs.2,999. July 28 and 29, 10 am onwards. At Anahata Yoga Zone.
