Adding a dash of purple on the long stretch of IT jungle at Navalur, is Tempteys’s signage. The space is a new milkshake joint in the city, located opposite ETA tech park and Vivira mall. Owned by city-based husband and wife duo Santhosh Panjala and Sunitha Santhosh, Temptey’s erves an array of yogurt or gelatin based ice cream shakes along with a few ‘make-your-own,’ choices. “The market here is wide and varied, we have colleges, IT companies and other restaurants nearby and moreover we live at a stone’s throw away and that makes managing the place easier,” explains Sunitha, about their pick of location.

We were greeted with the nutty Ferrero Rocher shake with a generous mix of the chocolate in ice cream, followed by ice cream blended with Oreo biscuits, leaving us overwhelmed by all the cocoa. It was less of a surprise when we were told that the thick and decadent brownie ice cream shake with chunks of the fudgy cake within and the raspberry yogurt shake, a pretty sight to look at, with lines of bright pink raspberry coolie, running along the fresh, thick yog-urt, remain the bestsellers of the brand.
Meanwhile, the classic shakes that majorly have fresh fruit coolies mixed into the, preferably a yogurt base, also managed to live up to our expectations. The milk-shakes, though rich and flavourful, unlike at many other milkshake outlets, didn’t come in outrageous quantities.

They also serve exclusive flavours like bubble gum that comes with the fruity taste of gum and a berry blast — with strawberry, forest berries and grapes. Also look out for rich and creamy coffee-based shakes for caffeine addicts alongside a limited array of cookies and cakes. Making it a little more fun, they let the customers choose their own ingredients and toppings, ranging from marshmallows to various brands of chocolate. As for how the brand plans to stand out from the Thickshake phenomenon, Sunitha says “Our fruit-based toppings are imported from Italy and the ice creams are all made in-house at the Hyderabad branch. So, we believe that quality ingredients will make us stand out.”
