Autumn Leaf Café has a loyal following. Owners Deepti Pallapolu and Vishnu Reddy are mostly around chatting up the regulars and finding out about their preferences. Also, operations head Mahadev Krishna and Suraj Reddy love interacting with the customers. “When we started in April 2016, we were just an outlet with 30 seats, now we have 90!” says Deepti. There’s a furniture studio attached to the cafe, and owner Vishnu says it contributes to the old world charm of the place.
Patrons can look forward to the new menu they have launched. While Grilled Chicken and the Chicken Piccata have been retained, there are a host of new things in their menu to look forward to. “We wanted to give the guests who are vegans and vegetarians more options,” says Deepti. We tried their Quinoa Salad. The fresh salad comprising quinoa, rocket and iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes and garnished with pomegranate was appetising and wholesome. The little details, from the sauces to garnishings are monitored. For instance, when we tried the Shrimp Bisque, the right hint of basil made all the difference. “We would soon be serving coffee with coconut and soy milk for the vegans,” says Mahadev.
Their Chicken Souvlaki was succulent and perfect. There’s a surprise in the offing – Deepti says she wants to include a new section in the menu just for the pet pooches who come with the owners. Talk about a caring host!
