A hearty, warm and a delicious breakfast is all one needs to fix a gloomy day! Just imagine a table laid out with a lavish spread of eggs, chole bhature, pizza and pancakes just waiting to be raided by hungry young children and heavily worked out bodies. This is the kind of table that Watson’s at JP Nagar is laying out every Sunday morning since last week — an interesting assortment of the most delectable breakfast dishes to feast on.

Though there are quite a few places in South Bengaluru that offer Indian and European breakfasts, what makes Watson’s the place to visit is the fact that they also offer classic non-vegetarian combinations. First, we tried the Kheema Baida Roti (a shallow-fried parantha that’s layered with egg and stuffed with minced mutton or chicken). We opted for the minced mutton option and this one came close to the classic baida roti that’s served in most Muslim house-holds.
The minced mutton was perfectly cooked in Indian spices and complemented the egg layer. Just one of these is enough to fill you up. We suggest you split it to be able to try other options. Next, we tried the Pancakes with Honey and Maple Syrup. No pretensions here, just the plain regular, fluffy pancakes that are sinful with honey and maple syrup.
What came next was the most perfect Chole Bhature — deep fried, puffy and thick bhature (pooris) served with a generous portion of chickpeas cooked in Indian spices. The thick gravy of the chole makes every morsel drool-worthy. The subtle ginger, garlic and garam masala notes were in perfect harmony.
While the Chole Bhature set expectations really high, the next offering made our feast even better. The Hangover, comprising masala omelette served with toast, chicken sausages, bacon, hash brown and grilled tomatoes, is the ultimate breakfast you could ask for. The masala omelette is perhaps the most popular option. The perfectly fried hash brown is also delicious.
Finally, we tried the Sunny Pizza — a pizza that’s topped with mushrooms, onions, bell pepper cheese and egg yolk! The yolk is what adds magic to the otherwise regular pizza. The gooey yolk makes this thin-crust pizza an option to try in the morning, even if pizza isn’t your idea of break-fast food. For those who are very particular about eating breakfast that’s fit for kings, Watson’s is certainly the place you need to head to.
