Tales from a grill: Check out Burger Stories in Hyderabad

This outlet offers an array of options for vegeterians and meat lovers cooked in a relatively healthy way
Burgers, burgers everywhere
Burgers, burgers everywhere

AS far as comfort food goes, burgers certainly top the list. However, in Hyderabad, joints dedicated to it are few and far between. That’s where the recently-opened Burger Stories comes in. Owner Chalapathi Vemulapalli says, “When my wife and I were travelling across the southern part of the country, we noticed there weren’t enough options where we could get good grilled burgers. That’s when we decided to come up with this outlet.” Only two burgers in this joint offer options with deep-fried patties, the rest are mostly grilled.

Writing on the wall
The architect who worked on the interiors, Spruha Shah, has made optimum use of the walls on both sides. The fluorescent light falls on the glassy interiors and orange and green wall balanced by the pastel-hued chairs. On the left wall, there are framed pictures that emulate newspaper clippings with the headlines, pictures et al that talk about the owners’ background and signature burgers. On the other side is graffiti in black and white with quotes, illustrations and cartoons. ‘Do you speak the language of French fries?’, asks one of the lines. Of course, we do!

Going great buns
All the recipes happen to be crafted by Vemulapalli and his team of chefs, and they are picky about the ingredients. The burgers here are served with a side of French fries and sauces that are made in-house. As we stare at the walls, trying to take in all the one-liners, the first burger arrives on the table – Peri Peri Lamb Burger. Covered with a generous dose of sauces and veggies, the grilled meat patty is rather juicy. It comes with a Panko Dip, which has a hint of jalapeño. It is spicy but goes well with the burger.
However, we like the Spicy Chipotle Chicken Burger more, which arrives next. It is paired with a  Chipotle Dip which  wins us over. The chicken patty wrapped in fresh lettuce, grilled bell peppers and onions is succulent to the core. Parting note? Be as messy, that’s the best way to enjoy scrumptious burgers.

Price for two: Rs 600
