The first thing that Brand Ambassador of Glenfiddich India, Angad Singh Gandhi, said on his maiden visit to Hyderabad was, “Mix your single malt with whatever you want but don’t mix it with cola. That is just not acceptable”. Although he likes to have his sip of dram with water, the youngest ambassador of the brand, says he has been exploring cocktail-making with whisky and local ingredients. “I travelled throughout the country last year trying to find local ingredients which matches the flavour profile of Glenfiddich 12,” says the 30-year-old single malt enthusiast from Delhi who has experimented with figs from Gujarat, walnut from Kashmir, tea from Assam and coffee from Chikmagalur go really well with it. “Also, I had mixed tea with Glenfiddich 12 a few times and discovered how well its essence and tasting notes (especially the flavours) are heightened when paired together,” says Angad, adding that’s how the cocktail, Whisky by Nature was born.
