This adventure bike definitely boasts some cutting-edge technologies. Systems such as throttle by wire and Selectable Torque Control are standard offerings and the manufacturer has gone in for a lithium-ion battery in order to save weight on the new version.

Powering the machine is a parallel twin 999.11cc engine that delivers 89 PS of power and 93.1 Nm of torque. The bike retains the automatic and dual clutch transmission technologies. There are three modes of operation which include ‘D’ for city and highway riding, ‘S’ for a sportier feel and ‘MT’ for full manual control, which allows the rider to shift gears with trigger controls on the left handlebar. Other key features include rally style negative LCD instrument display that shows you the riding mode you are in, speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, gear position, HSTC, odometer, clock and ABS indicator

Tough design
The motorcycle sports a Showa 45mm cartridge-type inverted telescopic front forks with preload adjusters and a 230 mm stroke while the rear gets a monoblock cast aluminium swingarm with Pro-link and gas-charged dampers plus a preload adjuster and offers 220 mm of rear wheel travel.

With ABS as standard and 310mm twin floating front discs and a 256 mm rear disc, stopping power is brilliant. Initially, the Honda Africa Twin is available for booking only to the first 50 customers. The brand is also offering a few lucky customers the chance to win a trip to a MotoGP event upon booking the bike. It has been priced at `13.23 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
