The Yamaha YZF-R3 made quite an impact when it was first introduced in the Indian market a few years ago. It won accolades including the prestigious Indian Motorcycle of the Year award in 2016 and found a place amongst biking enthusiasts in the country. Known for its sporty riding dynamics, the bike delivered on the style quotient as well. Now, the manufacturer has launched a new version that promises to be even better.

Offered in two colour variants, namely, Racing Blue and Magma Black, the Yamaha YZF-R3 comes powered by a 321 cc liquid cooled, four-stroke, inline two-cylinder fuel-injected engine that delivers 42 PS of power and 29.6 Nm of torque. The engine is known for its refinement and smooth power delivery that easily lets you get up to three digit speeds at a rather brisk pace. Aiding its sporty nature is the fact that the bike boasts of a lightweight body thus allowing for an exemplary power-to-weight ratio. The new model’s performance is further complemented by the Metzeler radial tyres that offer a higher level of safety and added grip. Incidentally, the outgoing version didn’t get these tyres.

Further enhancing the bike’s appeal is the addition of the dual channel anti-lock braking system technology which has greatly improved the bike’s braking ability, especially under less than optimal conditions such as wet and slippery roads. Priced at `3,48,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), the YZF-R3 will be retailed through select Yamaha dealerships across the country.
