The familiar brand has taken a good-looking classic design and made subtle improvements in order to lend the Ciaz a sharper look. The new model sports a brand new grille, and new projector headlights with LED DRLs. You also get a revised bumper with LED fog lamps and chrome bezels for an upmarket appeal. The silhouette remains the same; however, the car does get these stunning 16-inch alloys that are finished in a dual-tone metallic pebble grey. The rear LED combination lamps look great at night and are a welcome change as is the extra chrome garnish on the back bumper.

Big on space
The two-tone dash looks great thanks to that touch of satin chrome and birch blonde wood that runs across to the door trims as well. As far as the space on board is concerned, the new Ciaz dominates on this account by having the roomiest cabin and offering the most legroom in the business. The car also comes packed with features that include the new 4.2-inch multi-information TFT display for the driver, steering mounted controls, a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control air-conditioning with rear AC vents, and to further enhance your experience—you can download the Suzuki Connect App.

Power play
Maruti Suzuki is offering this new car with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1,248 cc diesel unit delivers 88 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque and is only offered with a five-speed manual transmission. As for the petrol unit, it is an all-new engine that displaces 1,462 cc and delivers 103 hp of power and 138 Nm of torque (available in both manual and automatic trims). The new vehicle also gets the next generation SHVS system that runs a lithium-ion and lead-acid battery. Key features include idle start/stop at signals or in traffic to help increase efficiency, brake energy regeneration technology to charge the high capacity batteries, and you also get the torque assist function. With all that tech, the new Ciaz petrol is peppy, responsive, and frugal.

Safe ride
The all-new automobile doesn’t disappoint on the safety front either. You get dual front airbags, full frontal and pedestrian impact compliance, seatbelt pre-tensioners with force limiters, ABS, EBD, and of course, the Suzuki-TECT body that has been crafted to disperse crash energy effectively.

Final verdict
The new Ciaz is better in just about every aspect which makes this new avatar quite a deal. Especially since its pricing has been kept competitive with the range starting at `8.19 lakh and going up to `10.97 lakh for the top variants.
