Launchpad: 2018 S-Class is the first BSVI-compliant vehicle in India

Incidentally, the new variant is the first BSVI-compliant vehicle in India with both the petrol and diesel engines complying with the norms two years before they are to be implemented! The S 350 comes fitted with an inline six-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 286 hp and 600 Nm of torque, while the S 450 gets a V6 petrol unit that delivers 367 hp and 500 Nm of torque. In terms of performance, the S 350 can do the 0-100 kmph dash in just 6.0 seconds while the petrol variant does it in 5.1 seconds.
Designed for the rich and famous, the new iteration carries an air of sophistication. This is highlighted by the radiator trim with three twin louvers and vertical bars in high-gloss black, and a new lower bumper with sporty air intakes, while the rear gets a new bumper with integrated tailpipes and LED taillights that boast of a crystal look. Safety features include a complex radar-based active distance assist and active steering assist. You also get a blind spot assist to ensure maximum safety for the occupants as well as those around you. The Mercedes-Benz S 350 d is priced at `1.33 Crore, while the petrol version S 450 is priced at `1.37 Crore.
