Bombay Jayashri and Nooran Sisters to headline at the 4th edition of The Sacred Pushkar

Conceived by the leading performing arts entertainment company, Teamwork Arts, The Sacred Pushkar returns for its fourth edition from the 12th- 14th October 2018. The Festival will celebrate mindful living with Sacred music performances, healing therapies, yoga, guided meditation, interesting workshops, food trails, and curated heritage walks in timeless Pushkar.

At “The Sacred, Pushkar” the city’s spiritual ambience will combine with divinity itself through the ageless enchantment of music: poignant, vibrant and celestial! The Festival brings together some of the most powerful and diverse, national and international performers from various traditions of Sacred Music to Pushkar - a charming little town of Rajasthan steeped in mythology and set around the hallowed Pushkar Lake.

With evocative music at the centre of this experiential getaway, the Festival will feature headline performances by award-winning vocalist and composer, Bombay Jayashri and Nooran Sisters, a Sufi singing duo from Sham Chaurasia gharanaof Classical music.

Speaking about the fourth edition of the festival, Sanjoy Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, says, “At Teamwork Arts, we celebrate the spirit of creative expression and this festival is a manifestation of all things sacred that lie within us. From the tranquility of Pushkar to therapeutic sessions by experts through the day and numerous soul stirring performers who’ve joined to collaborate for this experience, visitors will have the opportunity to step into what’s beyond: new sounds, new moves, new sights, new ideas and new tastes.”

The Sacred Pushkar will provide an opportunity to appreciate and assimilate Pushkar's diverse religious, architectural, culinary and handicraft heritage: the spectacular ghats, delectable fare of organic food and the vibrant handicrafts created by local artisans. With a thoroughly invigorating and engaging programme, the Festival offers an experience of Pushkar like never-before.

At Jaipur Ghat, mornings will come alive with Morning Yoga and Meditation Sessions; Music Therapy by Sowmya Sanak Athreya and Sanak Kumar Athreya, who are the founders of Svarakshema Foundation; Chanting and Sacred Music performance by singer and composer, Bindhu Malini & Vedanth and renowned Sarod player Debasmita Bhattacharya. There will be a specially curated Sacred Garden, where one can indulge in the Organic Food Bazaar and Organic Merchandise and Clothing.

At sunset, anticipate a mood change through scintillating music as a perfect sundowner at the splendid Jaipur Ghat. The Evening Music will consist of performances by acclaimed artists like Bombay Jayashri, who has trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani music and performed in festivals and concerts in more than 35 countries; Nooran Sisters, a Sufi singing duo who rose to fame with their composition Allah Hoo and went on to sing in Bollywood movies like Highway, Sultan, Mirzya, Dangal, Jab Harry met Sejal; and Yulduz Turdiyeva, a rising star of Uzbek classical singing who is also known for her repertoire of Bukhara (mavregi), and many more.

While entrance to Morning and Evening music is not ticketed and open to all, a specially curated experience can be enjoyed through the Delegate Package where delegates can be part of a memorable journey, including heritage walks through the by-lanes of Pushkar, access to music workshops and transformative therapies like the Bowen Technique, CranioSacral Therapy, Marma Therapy, Deep Tissue and Ayurveda Massage at the Sacred Garden.
