Last year, the folks behind Vh1 Supersonic brought down heavyweights Macklemore, Eric Prydz and Zedd and we thought it would be difficult to top that. But festival curator, Nikhil Chinapa, and his team have made that look easy this year with headliners such as the American rock band Incubus, English indie rock band Alt J, American DJ Marshmello and Jamaican hip-hop artiste Sean Paul.
Commenting on the line-up, Nikhil says, “The diversity of artistes for our festival’s fifth edition is reflective of the many voices at Vh1 Supersonic, who’ve come together this year. From rock and indie music to future bass and driving techno, our festival embraces many sounds.”

Kolkata-based pop duo Parekh & Singh are planning to play a totally redesigned set from their earlier performances. “We’re also playing as a larger band for the first time in India. Expect mostly new music,
with a few favourites from our 2016 album, Ocean,” says the duo. They are looking forward to perform in a festival set-up. “A festival feels like a little self-contained world; as long as we can find a quiet spot to relax while offstage, we’re happy,” they add.

Donn Bhat who will take the stage with his band Passenger Revelator, says, “We like playing to newer audiences. I think we’ve never really played an EDM/DJ festival, (though Supersonic is no longer a strictly EDM/DJ festival anymore). We are excited about getting the music to another audience.”
The festival also promises a flea market, beer garden, a games and activities experiential zone, after
parties across the city, even a foot massage nook and happy hours so you don’t have to pregame. “I do hope that if you roll into our festival to listen to one genre, you will roll out having accidentally discovered a few others — and that your musical landscape would have forever been altered. That, without doubt, would be the most gratifying outcome of our team’s work this past year,” signs off Nikhil.

February 9, 10 and 11. At Laxmi Lawns, Pune
