According to reports, My Big Fat Greek Wedding fame actress Lainie Kazan was arrested for trying to steal food from a grocery store in Los Angeles.
Reports suggest that the 77-year-old actress was arrested for loading her cart with $180 worth of groceries.
Reports read that the actress, who played the role of mother Maria Portokalos in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, stuffed the food into reusable bags and made a run for her car. However, an employee from the grocery approached her and alerted police.
Media reports suggested that the actress admitted that she didn't have any money on her which was why she didn't pay for the groceries.
Kazan was later arrested for petty theft, handcuffed and taken to a police station where she was cited and released without bail.
