Sania Mirza - On an overview of Mirza's year - "It's okay. It was a tough year with my partners getting injured and stuff. But yes I have a bit of a knee injury now. I have been off for about a month. I have a couple more weeks to take rest, just trying to get used to...I will see if I need a surgery or not. Yes I have a little bit of problems..but all in all I still finished close to top 10 and yeah, I am happy with the year."

"I think acknowledgement is good for everyone whether you're an athlete or not. I think it is really good if you are acknowledged and I think these kind of awards are something that we athletes always say that it's always the crickets who get the awards and other sportsmen don't. a I think that this is a good way and it is an amazing space where they have tried to touch upon that. I think it is really good. I am looking forward to it and am really excited to see what is in store. It is the first year of such award so I really hope that this can continue and become a legacy."
Sania Mirza on Women of the year - "I think we've had so many great women achievers in the last one year or so. So it's a tough pick. So it is going to be interesting to see."
