US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump who is also his trusted adviser is in India to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit or GES to be held in the city of Nizams - Hyderabad. Narendra Modi has invited Ivanka to lead the US delegation for the summit which aims to bring together an assemblage of entrepreneurs, investors, and supporters from around the world. This is the first time that the GES is being hosted in South Asia.

Besides Falaknuma, she might also visit the Charminar, that topped her list of must-visit places in India. The Indian delegation includes banker Chanda Kochhar, fashion designer Anita Dongre, MakeMyTrip founder Deep Kalra, Vice-President of Google India Rajan Anandanm, Chef Vikas Khanna among others. NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will also attend the summit.

Empowering women

The theme for this year’s meet is “Women First, Prosperity for All”. A total of 1,200 delegates, most of them women, will be a part of the summit. A number of leading female voices will speak at various plenaries, breakout sessions, master classes, and workshops, including tennis champion Sania Mirza, Google's Vice President of Next Billion Users Diana Louise Patricia Layfield and CEO of Afghan Citadel Software Company Roya Mahboob.

Ivanka who is flanked by her husband Jared Kushner, will address the three-day event co-hosted by India and the US. Apart from appearing at two-panel discussions at the summit with the theme Women Entrepreneurs, she will also be taking a tour of the iconic Falaknuma Palace. Sources say the dinner will be served on a Nizam-era table at which 101 people can sit at a time. The 19th-century palace will also seat around 1,500-2,000 delegates on the lawns.

A royal tour

A guided tour of the palace - a majestic amalgam of Tudor and Italian architecture, is in store for the first daughter.  Although Ivanka has been to India before, this is her first official trip as part of a White House delegation. She would be using three of her own vehicles, sources said. And about 2,200 police personnel would be deployed for the twin events.

A Hyderabad special

Shopkeepers in Hyderabad's Charminar area have managed to grab eyeballs with their special "Ivanka bangles" that have Ivanka's name or India and US flags on the ornaments.
