Ivanka Trump has been presented with a royal treatment since her arrival in Hyderabad on Tuesday and was offered a seat at Falaknuma Palace's famous 101-seater dining table for a traditional Indian feast.

The five-course meal featured a menu inspired by Telangana and Nizami dishes. Curated by executive chef Sajesh Nair, the selection included dahi ke kebab, gosht shikampuri kebab, kubani ke malai kofta, murg pista ka salan and sitaphal kulfi, along with tastes of unique Indian ingredients such as saffron, figs and sandalwood.

All of the 101 diners were served by a personal butler and were treated to a host of traditional Indian performances. The guest list boasted names such as Chanda Kochhar, CEO of ICICI Bank; Nirmala Sitharaman, Defence Minister of India; and Sunil Mittal, founder and managing director of Bharti Enterprises.

The special event roused some upset from Najaf Ali Khan, the grandson of the last Nizam, who did not receive an invite. Khan said in a statement, "It is highly disappointing and lamentable that the family of the 7th Nizam were not invited for the GES event being held in one of the palaces that represents our familial culture and heritage."

The city of Hyderabad has been given a makeover in preparation for Ms. Trump's visit, as summed up by a tweet posted by a local politician on Monday.
