Bollywood actor John Abraham’s upcoming film, Satyamaeva Jayate, finds itself in legal trouble for allegedly disrespecting the National Emblem in the trailer, as per reports. According to a tweet by a leading media organisation, Mumbai-based advocate Ramakant Patil said in a statement, “I have filed the complaint because ‘Ashok Stambh’ can't be used for business purpose.”

This is a second complaint against the film, the first registered last Monday by Hyderabad-based Syed Ali Jaffary for reportedly hurting the sentiments of the Shia community. BJP Minority Morcha General Secretary Ali complained about a ‘maatam’ (mourning) scene from the vigilante action film and said they were offensive. The Dabeerpura police lodged a case last Sunday against Emmy Entertainments under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and relevant sections of the Cinematograph Act, 1952.

The upcoming cop drama features John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee in lead roles and directed by Milap Zaveri. The film is all set to hit the big screen on August 15.
