Oprah Winfrey has added another golden feather to her cap. The 63-year-old received the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is an honorary award bestowed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for her contribution to the world of entertainment.

In her acceptance speech, where she spoke about how the 'time is up for sexual predators, ' she was quoted saying,“It is not lost on me that, at this moment, there is some little girl watching as I become the first Black woman to be given the same award. It is an honour and it is a privilege to share the evening with all of them.”

Reports suggest that Winfrey's speech was all about, standing ovations, past memories and the story of Recy Taylor, a Black woman who never received justice after being abducted and gang-raped by six white men in Alabama.
