Indian singer-songwriter Lucky Ali’s tweet on Thursday about chemotherapy sent social media into a tizzy. He tweeted: “Dear Chemo therapy you should not be an option..ever... (sic)”.

The 59-year-old artiste’s tweet led his fans to assume that he was suffering from cancer, considering chemotherapy is one of the treatments for the disease. With reports doing rounds on the internet in no time, Ali clarified saying his health is fine. His tweet read: “By Allahs Grace I’m FINE and Thankyou everyone for your love and concern.. I was ranting against Chemo therapy because young people are being diagnosed with cancers and Losing hope when there are other Holistic Cures..So it was just one of those ones.. Love Always.. . (sic)”.

In an interview with a media organisation, Ali said, “I didn't write that message to freak people out. My friend died of the disease and I wanted to warn people against chemotherapy.”

In the recent times, there has been much anxiety in the Hindi film industry. While a few weeks ago, Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with cancer, Irrfan Khan too announced that he is suffering from cancer, earlier this year.

Ali last sang for Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone-starrer Tamasha.
