Yami Gautama goes organic with her home garden in Himachal Pradesh

The actress plans to reorganise the plantation and make it completely organic to help curtail pollution in the Himachal region

Those who are wondering what is Yami Gautama up to, then here's some news for you. The actress recently wrapped up the shooting for Shree Narayan Singh's social drama film Batti Gul Meter Chalu with Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is all set to take a break. The actress who has a house in her hometown of Himachal Pradesh is planning to set up a greenhouse right behind her house.

Himachal Pradesh, like a lot of other states has been grappling with the pesticides and chemical coated vegetables as well. Yami who has always been vocal about choosing the organic way of living not just with her food but her beauty regimen also decided to work towards this cause in her own way.

The actress aims to have an organic garden with her choice of fruits, vegetables and flowers growing. Apart from which she will also plant trees all around the garden to curtail the growing air population issues in the area. She aims to take it one step further by requesting other houses in the neighbourhood to also plant trees. The actress said "There is already a plantation around my house. I want to ensure it's a process that doesn't stop and am able to make it into an organic farm eventually. It is something I am inspired to do... I want to ensure the place is utilized for something useful and gives an opportunity to break away from city life and reconnect with my Pahadi roots."
