Hollywood actor Johnny Depp who has been battling financial and legal troubles said in an interview that he came close to being suicidal.

The actor recalled his mental state during the highly publicised divorce with actress Amber Heard and having to cope up with financial problems that hit him simultaneously."I was as low as I believe I could have gotten. The next step was, 'You're going to arrive somewhere with your eyes open and you are going to leave with your eyes closed'. I couldn't take the pain every day" said the actor.

The actor says he coped with the crisis by drinking and writing a memoir."I poured myself a vodka in the morning and started writing until the tears filled my eyes and I couldn't see the page anymore".I kept trying to figure out what I'd done to deserve this. I'd tried being kind to everyone, helping everyone, being truthful to everyone ... The truth is most important to me. And all this still happened." said The Pirates Of the Caribbean star. On his wine budget, Depp said: "It's insulting to say I spent $30,000 on wine. Because it was far more."

In January 2017, Johnny had also sued his former business managers Joel and Robert Mandel of The Management Group (TMG) for misappropriation of his money.
