Sonam Kapoor who recently appeared in Veere Di Wedding on Monday has said in an interview that she will take up movie direction in the next few years. The actor who tied the knot with Anand Ahuja in May said she is quite done for now because she has been doing a lot but she would definitely take it up by the end of 2019.
According to a report with a leading publication, Sonam has said her directorial debut should come in the next two years and she would like to cast her close friend Swara Bhasker in it. The actor said that she has found a couple of scripts and they are mostly ready but it will take some time to work on and finalise them. However, Sonam stated that she will continue acting but has made it clear that she will not act in the movie she is directing.
Sonam also went on to add that several directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, R Balki and even Aanand L. Rai have encouraged her to direct movies soon. The actor will be seen in three upcoming projects like The Zoya Factor, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and Battle for Bittora, which she has signed on recently.
