A court in Rajasthan's Jodhpur has directed the police to file a First Investigation Report against the cricketer Hardik Pandya for a tweet posted from his parody account.
The tweet posted from that account was about BR Ambedkar, the architect of the constitution.
While Hardik Pandya's twitter handle is @hardikpandya7, the court order is based on a complaint that refers to the handle @sirhardik3777. The comment that prompted the complaint was tweeted on December 26.
"We are yet to receive the orders of the court and once we get it, I will be in a position to comment," Rajesh Yadav, a police officer in Jaipur told NDTV. "Further action will be taken according to law," he added.
