Diwali is definitely a festival of lights but as the years pass many people are becoming more aware of the effect that bursting crackers have on the environment to end up causing pollution. While many Bollywood actors celebrated Diwali in different ways, Amitabh chose to go traditional and light a few sparklers with his family, however, after the actor posted pictures on Instagram, he faced a lot of criticism from Instagrammers.
Amitabh posted a picture of him and Jaya Bachchan holding sparklers with the caption, “Diwali brightness ever” and another picture with Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and granddaughter Aaradhya wishing his fans “Happy Diwali”. A lot of his fans immediately commented saying, “Please do not use crackers… not even a phuljadi” and another requested Amitabh to not burn crackers as he is a role model and should not burn crackers, as a lot of people learn from him. However, it did not stop there as another fan said, “Burning crackers this Diwali! Not cool at all...#pollutionfreediwali.”
While Amitabh Bachchan hasn’t responded to the comments, being socially active, fans can expect a post soon. On the film front, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan-starrer Thugs Of Hindostan released this week but has left fans disappointed with a weak storyline.
