Although actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have requested their guests to keep the wedding a highly private affair, a few details are finally trickling out, a couple of hours after a traditional Konkani wedding ceremony. A strict no-photos policy and heavy security at the venue is being followed. According to reports, two ceremonies - mehendi and sangeet - were held on Tuesday with about 40 close friends and family in attendance.
While Ranveer made a grand entry at the sangeet to his Gunday song, Tune Maari Entriyaan, Deepika reportedly teared up after Shubha Mudgal performed a thumri. “When she broke down, Ranveer, who could understand her emotional state, walked up to her and hugged her tight and consoled his lady love. He ensured she was smiling again with all his crazy love antics,” said a guest to a leading media organisation.
During the dance party, Ranveer reportedly played the dhol himself, getting his guests to dance too. Later, the couple grooved to a mix of retro and latest Bollywood songs, reports said. Deepika and Ranveer will host a reception for the film fraternity on November 28 in Mumbai and a reception will be hosted in Bengaluru.
