India’s celebrated author on Saturday wrote a Facebook post to address the Whatsapp screenshots which were publicly shared about a conversation between him and a woman, he had reportedly met on several occasions. The author said while the screenshots are true, he would like to apologise to the person and also his wife Anusha, who he was married to, at the time.

In the Facebook post, Chetan said the screenshots were several years old and he and the concerned person had hit it off really well as friends and he did feel a strong connection to her. He went on to also add that he did find her sweet, cute and funny, and as he also mentioned, he was married but was not looking for action. However, he hadn’t found that kind of connection in a long time and maybe it was because of the phase that he was going through during the time. Chetan said he thought the person felt the same way but he was stupid to think like that or even share it with her. However, now, he has apologised to her and has written the note with her consent.

Chetan said he did make an error and should have had better judgement on his part and maybe his misread the friendliness. Additionally, he said the ‘wooing’ came from a conversation which he had earlier had with the person about how the current generation does not woo anyone anymore and how one misses being wooed. The author, who recently came out with his new book One Indian Girl said, however, he wants to clarify that there was nothing physical, and no lewd pictures or words were exchanged in the process.
