A day after Indian comedian Kaneez Surka tweeted about how fellow comedian Aditi Mittal kissed her on stage without her consent, the latter has responded with an apology. The comedian speaking about the incident said she did participate in the open mic night where Kaneez was the host, but she only gave her a peck on the lips. She did it as a joke, like a part of the act when she came up on stage but did not put her tongue in Kaneez’s mouth, like it has been stated.

In the statement Aditi has released on Twitter, she has gone on to state that while the intentions were not sexual, she realised it is a violation of her space and it bothers her even today and is extremely sorry for the whole situation. The comedian said she did talk to Kaneez in 2017 and even issued an apology and it was accepted by the latter who realised she did not mean it. Interestingly, they also discussed the sexism within All India Bakchod (AIB) and promised to have each other's back, in the boys club.

However, Aditi said as far as “turning hostile” with Kaneez, she only avoided spaces where the comedian or people from the same circle met each other, out of respect for her personal space and a cautionary measure. The comedian said that since Kaneez asked her for a public apology about the situation for closure, she is doing as asked and is really sorry for the incident.
