Royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan were involved in a rather unfortunate event on their way to a party in Amsterdam on Saturday. The private jet the couple were travelling in was struck by lightning, however, the aircraft landed safely at Schiphol Airport.

According to several media reports, the accident which occurred last month, only came to light recently, as the Dassault Falcon 7X jet’s nose cone was struck dangerously after being hit by at least 30 million volts before it was grounded for safety checks and repairs. However, the couple did end up getting to the party, which also saw the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Jenna Coleman and Nick Grimshaw.

Harry and Meghan were flown back two days later but the Kensington Palace refused to comment about the incident. The jet, which was hired for the particular day, is said to have been a whopping 20,000 pounds.
