A few hours after Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone made an announcement on Instagram that she would be getting married to Ranveer Singh, Koffee With Karan Season 6 saw her admit that she has been dating the Gully Boy actor for six years. This is the first time that the Padmaavat actor has openly admitted to dating Ranveer, and interestingly it comes with the subtle prodding of Karan Johar.
There was obviously a lot of hype for the first episode of Koffee With Karan Season 6 because it saw Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone, both under the same roof. The drama is simply because Alia Bhatt is now dating Ranbir Kapoor, who happens to be Deepika Padukone’s ex-boyfriend before she started dating Ranveer Singh. However, when Karan asked about the upcoming wedding and said that Deepika and Ranveer had been dating each other for five years, she immediately corrected him saying it was actually six.
Karan Johar, being himself, also asked Deepika other questions related to Ranveer and she responded with much enthusiasm, calling him a ‘Mumma’s Boy’ and even going on to say she loves him for his emotional capabilities, hates his lifestyle and sleeping capabilities and tolerates his fashion sense, among other traits. While Deepika Padukone is currently on a break, Ranveer Singh is busy working on Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, Rohit Shetty’s Simmba and will soon be seen in Karan Johar’s all-starrer Takht.
