Bollywood star Salman Khan has come out in support of his home production and upcoming film Loveratri, to say that it does not support any culture. The response has come after some right-wing groups have reportedly taken offence to the name as it allegedly distorts the name of a Hindu festival.

According to various media reports, Salman in an interview said that while some people have a problem with the title of the film, there is nothing more beautiful than love and it does not put down any culture. He also went on to say that he plays all his roles seriously, and while he played a Sardar in one, he has even played a Haryanvi in the other, and he does it with all due respect. Talking about the film, he said the film celebrates music, colour, love and the fun of the festive season during Navratri and all people against it will know after the film is released.

Salman Khan said the CBFC board is the right body to decide and he is sure Loveratri will get a U certificate and nobody will have the right to say anything after that. The film marks the debut of Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma as well as Warina Hussain. It has been directed by debutant Abhiraj Minawala, who has also incidentally worked with Salman in Sultan, as an assistant and Fan, among other films.
