While critics and fans are giving out mixed reviews about Seema Raja, Sivakarthikeyan’s performance seems to have wowed too many people because it has earned Rs 13.5 crore on the first day. The film has broken all previous records for the actor’s films like Remo and Vellaikaran.
The earnings were confirmed by producer RD Raja as he confirmed it on Twitter saying it also happens to be Sivakarthikeyan’s career best. While the collection report states the film earned 1.01 crore in Chennai alone and made over 13.5 crores in 550 screens. Interestingly, all the earnings are despite early morning shows and US premieres were cancelled due to technical reasons after theatres did not receive the Key Delivery Message (KDM) which helps unlock the encrypted film.
Seema Raja, which is about a modern-day prince, also stars Samantha Akkineni, Soori and Napolean, among others. The film has been directed by Ponram while D Imman is the music director.
