Veteran Kerala actor Captain Raju passes away at 68

Captain Raju is more popularly known for his villain roles and got the name after he quit the Indian Army as a Captain before joining films in 1981.

Veteran Malayalam cinema actor Captain Raju passed away at the age of 68 at his residence in Kochi on Monday, according to family members. The actor breathed his last after he had earlier suffered a stroke while attending his son’s marriage in the US, before being shifted to a hospital in Muscat, and then transferred to Kochi on July 2. 

Captain Raju is more popularly known for his villain roles and got the name after he quit the Indian Army as a Captain before joining films in 1981. He made his debut with the film Raktham and is more popularly known for his roles in Nadodikaattu, Valyettan, CID Moosa, and Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha, among others. From Pathanamthitta district, he has worked in over 500 films and was most recently seen in the Malayalam film Masterpiece

While also being seen in various television serials, he has acted in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films as well. If that wasn’t enough, the actor also directed to films Mr Pavanayi 99.99 and Itha Oru Snehagatha
