Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is busy with a lot of films, and while he is busy shooting Gully Boy, he has signed another film called ‘83 based on India’s 1983 World Cup win in cricket. However, director Kabir Khan has roped in the best person to train the actor and it is none other than Kapil Dev. Incidentally, the cricketer was the captain of the team that won the coveted title against West Indies.

According to the latest report, Ranveer Singh will play the role of the cricket legend Kapil Dev and is going learn his mannerisms for the film. While the film will go on floors later this year, the preparations are set to start sooner. It will also be interesting to see Ranveer imitate Kapil’s outward swing among other elements. Co-producer Vishnu Induri said the roles for the film are yet to be decided but as they will all be playing cricketers, the training will begin before they start shooting for the film.

Vishnu also went on to add that while most scenes in December will be shot in India, the matches of the World Cup and the final are expected to be shot in London. Interestingly, while Ranveer has played many different roles, this is the first time he will be doing a biopic. Currently, he is busy shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Simbaa and will also finish Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy before he starts shooting for ‘83
