Riding the Yuletide
Tis the season to be jolly, and we’ve certainly been at our jolliest best! Chennai found itself revelling in the Yuletide spirit this season, with twinkling lights, giant feasts and Christmas carols across the city. On Christmas Eve we found ourselves, a rather large group, at Madras Club “wining and dining like adults”, as someone rightly pointed out. Our sit down dinner was followed by a rather long photo session by the tree, where our better halves indulged us as we took what must’ve been hundreds of photos. I kid you not. Christmas day itself saw everyone going the family-lunch route either at home or at popular restaurants around the city. Either way it meant plates piled high with food, lots of eggnog and Santa hats.
This week also saw some festive shopping starting off at Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park with Funky Fish’s Rouge Affair – a shout out to all the ladies to make sure that their holiday wardrobes were ‘on point’. The call was definitely answered, with the usual amount of enthusiasm we have come to expect from brand loyalists. Meanwhile at Hyatt Regency Chennai, the Vimonisha Mega Style Souk by Monisha Gidwani was underway, with Radikaa Sarathkumar doing the honours and Chennai’s singing sensation Zoe Siddharth making a special appearance. I also managed to make a quick stop at Address Home Rutland Gate for a fun, girly afternoon where us ladies got to check out their latest festive collection. ‘Lots of great gifts’ we said to each other, making mental notes to come back later and snag a few of those babies for ourselves. I can always start my ‘no shopping’ resolution next year right?
