There's nothing like a pool party to beat the summer heat. So Saturday night was all about some heavy duty partying at Aqua, The Park Hotel by the water. DJ Amour played the chartbusters and that kept us on our toes. Amour’s love for music and passion to keep the spirits high was evident with her choice of fast numbers. The summery and citrusy cocktails kept us chilled and happy.
From delectable daiquiris, we moved to colourful designerwear with shopping at Jalsa Fashion Eternity, which brought in scores of red-hot trends inspired by fashion runways. They curate collections by festivals, colours, body types, zodiac signs, weddings, types of ethnic work – and more. I especially loved the zodiac sign wear and picked up some for myself. We Hyderabadis also love the good old handloom expos. Naturally, stopping by at the 10-day, ‘Silk India Expo-2018’ at Sri Rajarajeshwari Gardens was mandatory. It was lovely to see indigo and lilacs back in fashion.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, city fashion designer Kavita Agarwal unveiled her first flagship store at Begumpet. IAS Tejdeep Kaur Menon, actress Nikita Chaturvedi, Jenny Honey and Sita Narayan were seen shopping at the new store. Kavita had recently showcased her collection, titled ‘Ode to Pietra Dura’ at the India Runway Week-Season-2. Her collection inspired from an ancient decorative art form often referred to as ‘paintings in stone’, was one of the most applauded collections of the fashion week. So before we know, the city fashionistas had already shopped for Kavita’s ensembles. Shopping, much like partying, cools us down and I am glad we went back home with lighter pockets, but heavier bags.
