Once again this week saw us glued to our TV screens, between Harry and Meghan’s Royal Wedding and the Chennai Super Kings sealing their place in the finals. The former, as always with events such as these, had debates that went on for days, about the dress, the hair, and the ‘who wore it better’. Priyanka Chopra’s sartorial choices earned her almost as much attention as the bride. I don’t think we’ve ever discussed a hat in such detail before. Plus, the hilarious debates online provided much entertainment for days after.
As for our boys in yellow, we experienced a series of mini heart attacks as they took on the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the playoffs. With a ringside seat at Wankhede Stadium, it really was quite something to watch all the action unfold live. In fact, I spotted many of Chennai’s popular faces in the crowd. As they’ve done time and time again, they had to keep us guessing to the very last ball, just about managing to make it over the finish line. Well we’re not completely done, we’re looking forward to the big clash at the finals on Sunday. All the best, team CSK!
Meanwhile in the city, we experienced a wee bit of a lull on the party front, thanks to the crazy temperatures. Which means, instead of half a dozen fashion events, we had just two. The launch of Masaba’s summer collection at Amortela saw quite a turnout, with the ladies going the ‘easy breezy’ route style-wise. We saw mostly relaxed silhouettes and summery prints as guests made a bee-line for their favourites. Conversation included lots of comparing notes on summer vacations and everyone’s shared love for Masaba.
Later in the week, we saw the launch of Tejas’ Experience Centre, showcasing a state-of-the-art range of home automation systems and more, with a two-day event. The exclusive guest list saw well-known architects, interior designers and industry professionals, who enjoyed the unique experience. The same could be said even for those who weren’t strictly in business mode, immersing themselves in the customised mock-ups.
