My week started with the launch of Room Two, the swanky new cocktail bar in Banjara Hills, curated by Sofiya Sujad. The focus was on craft cocktails such as Martinez and Brandy Crusta (some of the recipes dated back to the 19th century), accompanied by a specially curated menu featuring Gnocchi with Blue Cheese Mornay and fusion delicacy Biryani Arancini. The evening was surely a food and drink connoisseur’s delight. Spotted at the do were Manjula Narsa, Rajit Pillai, Sabiha Ali and Rummy Mahendra.

Later that evening, partygoers landed at the grand reception of fashion designer Sai Priya Sattoor and Abhilash Malagani at Sandhya Convention. Hyderabadi delicacies, a décor high on cloth canopies and wedding tents made the whole wedding look like a scene straight out of Arabian Nights, but with a Telugu touch, nevertheless.

Saturday was all about shopping, as I headed to Trendz, a two-day designer expo at Taj Krishna. Tollywood actresses Priya Chowdary and Shubhangi Pant, along with socialite Koyal Chandak were at the event, which featured ware by renowned fashion designers and best artisans from across the country. The same evening, the members of Lion’s Club had a lot of fun, celebrating Janmashtami at Park Hyatt. The theme was ‘tapori’ and ladies turned up dressed in kitschy clothes and neon tops. They had a great time getting drenched in the water as they tried to break the handi blindfolded.

However, the real Bohemian fun was watching viral internet sensation Sanjeev Shrivastava, better known as Dancing Uncle, dance away to glory at Om Convention, where Evolve 5 celebrated its graduation ceremony. The evening was high on glamour, fashion, and music as students presented their collection and also walked the ramp.

We wrapped up the hectic week with Dance for a Cause event at Snort on Sunday. The event was organised to raise funds for flood victims in Kerala. About 25 DJs from across the country including Anant, Alex, Huzefa, Tatsama and Sriker were present in Kothaguda. The music was heady and as it was a fundraiser for Kerala, nobody minded going home all the way from Kothaguda. All in all, a week that started off on cocktails and ended with a fundraiser.
