Iconic troupe Cirque du Soleil to make its India debut in November

The company originally composed of 20 street performers in 1984 was one of the first to reinvent circus arts and become popular for showcasing brilliant performances in live entertainment.

Live entertainment company Cirque du Soleil is all set to come to India for the first time ever later this year. The Canada-based global company will have shows in Delhi and Mumbai and will have its new touring show Bazzar make its world premiere in India this November, before heading to other countries. The show is its 43rd original production after entertaining people around the world for over 30 years. 

According to reports, the President and CEO, Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, Daniel Lamarre, said that while they have travelled the world over, they have always wanted to explore the Indian market as it has been on their mind among the few remaining countries in the world. The company originally composed of 20 street performers in 1984 was one of the first to reinvent circus arts and become popular for showcasing brilliant performances in live entertainment. Their performances are usually with whimsical stage costumes staged under magical lighting which is set to original music compositions in over 450 cities in 60 countries. 

Interestingly, their performances are a mix of acrobatics, choreography and characters with stories, which are told through visuals breaking language barriers because of which it appeals to a large audience. Bazzar will be performed by the artistes under the newest version of its famous Big Top Tent, which is 62ft high and 135 ft in diameter, with a seating capacity of over 1500 guests and will be an essence of what Cirque du Soleil truly is.
