Last week began with the big, fat sangeet and wedding ceremony of Hanisha, city-based textile honcho, Prasad Chalavadi’s daughter with Bharadwaj RB. The much talked-about sangeet was held at JRC Convention followed by a grand wedding at HICC Novotel. The who’s who of the city were spotted at the event including actress Lakshsmi Manchu. The lavish Hyderabadi wedding also saw the newly-crowned winner of Indian Idol Season 9, LV Revanth, who had the guests burning the dance floor, giving them a night to remember. From the lavish wedding to a goosebump-worthy performance – on Saturday, the glitterati, dressed in smart casuals flocked to the performance of a play, Two to Tango directed by well known theatre artiste, Saurabh Shukla. We spotted actress Namrata Shirodkar was spotted at the do with her friend Sabina Xavier. This comedy drama turned out to be hit with the audience.
Later on Sunday, artist Sravanthi Juluri enacted a unique show along with the display of her abstract art – Tvamevaham. Kuchipudi dancer Lanka Vaishnavi, who enacted the role of her alter ego. The performance, which was a part of the events being held to celebrate the restoration of the Palladian mansion in Koti, will stay with Hyderabadis for a long time. By the end of the 30-minute art and dance show, the audience burst into a round of applause. While art lovers flocked to Durbar Hall, the ones who were on the look-out for some laughter headed to stand-up comedian, Amit Tandon’s performance at Heart Cup Coffee.
