Heritage Walk Calcutta is organising Dalhousie Square Walk. In this heritage walk they will retrace the steps of Lt Col Mark Wood to explore streets and identify buildings depicted in this 1784 map of European Calcutta. While doing this, the explorers will learn about the history of the city between 1757 and 1807, a 50-year period following the battle of Plassey, when Calcutta emerged as the “Second City of the British Empire”.
