The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat has come up with Mango Mela, to celebrate summer with the king of fruits. “Beat the heat and enjoy the wholesome fruit in its various avatars,” said in-house chef Vikash Prasad as he rustled up a plethora of dishes with a dash of mangoes such as Gulabkhas, Amrapali, Laxmanbhog, Langda, Chausa, Totapuri and Alfonso. Give the tamarind water a miss and have your phuchkas with Khatta Meetha (sweet and sour) mango water or the Meethi aam ka paani (water made with sweet mango). You can try the Meen (Fish) Mango curry, Flambéed Mango, Stir-fried Shrimps with Mango and Aam aur Dahi ke Kebab. A few delicacies to check out from the special a la carte menu are Chilled Mango Cappuccino with Coconut Foam, Prosciutto de Parma with Fresh Mango, Mozzarella and Balsamic, Aam Gosth Ka Quorma, Mango and Chilli Risotto with Basil. Fresh mango tart and mango popsicle are worth trying from the dessert section. There’s also a counter, Learn the Chef’s Sutra, where you can teach the chef a secret recipe, and get to learn one from him too. A dinner voucher for two will be up for grabs for the prizewinning recipe selected by the chef.
