Architha Narayanam’s latest collection, Bloom, instantly conjures an image of delicate outfits adorned with dainty floral details. She debuted her bridal collection last Sunday, and it is now available at her Banjara Hills studio. “From the sketch board to the final fittings, I worked for about two months to get all the designs ready,” says the designer, who recently collaborated with actor Ranveer Singh for a campaign shoot.

Ruled by ruffles
Hyderabadis witnessed the collection last Sunday when models paired Tyaani’s new polki jewellery with Architha’s Bloom. She has attempted to create ensembles with a romantic air. Expect voluminous lehengas and dressy cocktail gowns. The fabrics used to achieve the desired look include crepe silks, tulle and organza. Architha is known for her creative bridal lehengas; for instance a few months ago  she added pockets to trousseaus for the line titled, Orb of Night. This time, she mentions that her bespoke bridal designs are for those fashionistas who aren’t shy of dramatic silhouettes — we are talking various layers of ruffles and hand-crafted tassels hanging from the waistline. The colour scheme ranges from dark to light — apart from navy blue, there are lemon yellow, mint green, peaches and ice blues.

Dream sequins
The form-fitted crop tops that go with the lehengas include zardosi and Swarovski-encrusted embellishments, which definitely amp up the glamour quotient. Also look out for her signature tulle lehenga in peach for which 100 metres of fabric has been used!
