Eco-friendly label Akashi unveils their new collection, Wildflower

Their latest collection offers a perfect summer mix with flowy textures in pastel hues combined with floral embroidery work.

This Mumbai-based label which subscribes to the tenets of sustainable fashion was founded in 2016 and is spearheaded by Vina Ahuja and Alexander Kaleekal along with the creative head, Sanjana Shetty. Their latest collection offers a perfect summer mix with flowy textures in pastel hues combined with floral embroidery work.


The colour palette comprises understated pastel shades in blue, green, pink and lilac. The fabric used is mostly flax with almost no synthetic to do justice to the fact that they are an eco-friendly brand. “The top picks from the collection are collar dresses with frills, cross body tie up dresses and high low tops,” says Sanjana, adding that the collection can be found in multi-designer store, Anonym in Jubilee Hills. Their aesthetics are also inspired by director, Vina Ahuja’s vision who studied interior designing and has worked in home textiles with villages for weaving, dyeing and printing for 22 years.

The label uses traditional printing and weaving techniques, while incorporating a contemporary  sensibility to their designs. What stands out about  the designs are that they are quite size inclusive and have something for everyone! These sustainable brand is also known to focus on minute details right from the tassels to the inner lining and boasts of outfits that allow great freedom of movement.
