Started in 2014, Suja Silks is known to create exemplary handwoven saris and constantly satisfy their customers. Now, 4 years later, they will finally be opening their first ever showroom which will be a one-stop shop for exclusive Kanjivaram saris.

The process of making a Kanjivaram sari is long and tedious but the end result is definitely rewarding. These stunning saris are usually embellished with gold or zari, which is a kind of gold thread, with a distinctive border and are an obvious choice for many Indian brides. Simple Kanjivaram saris can take an average of 10 days while elaborate ones can take up to 20 days. The best place to get your hands on a Kanjivaram sari in South India is Tamil Nadu. Not surprisingly, the second largest producer of silk in the world is India.

Apart from saris, Suja Silks also sells silk material and silk dupatta that is sourced from  Sidlaghatta and Bangalore. What is so special about these saris is that "We concentrate on quality and uniqueness", says Suja. The silk used by Suja Silks is pure mulberry silk, which is known to be the highest quality of silk in the market.

Their saris are a class apart and come in all colours and patterns. They sell various kinds of sari materials like  Kalamkari, Pochampalli, 3D/4D cotton and Organic linen among many others. The saris are priced anywhere between rupees 1000 to 2.5 lakhs.

Be sure to visit Suja Silks' grand opening tomorrow where their weavers will be in attendance as well.

On May 24, 11:45 am at Suja Silks, 74/147, Luz Church road, Mylapore, Chennai 04
