Rajasthani block prints might be the most dependable and perennially trending design when it comes to both fashion, as well as home decor. SthiraaSthiraa, a new block printing store in Indira Nagar focusses exclusively on the craft. “Block printing is one of the most ancient Indian handicrafts,” says founder and director, Shalini M, adding, “What we create at Sthiraa is products that are contemporary in design yet traditional in prints.”
Sthiraa, which means permanence and durability in Sanskrit, has a Bengaluru-based team that designs all products in-house, while they are all manufactured in Jaipur. “All the designing of Sthiraa’s products are done here in the city because we wanted to keep up with the latest trends in the fashion industry,” Shalini says. Their fashion line features relaxed dresses, casual pants and daywear tops in cotton with the prints in various motifs.
Apart from women’s apparel, the store stocks a wide range of kitchen and dining linen as well as entire bedding collections such as quilts, bed spreads, pillow covers, cushion covers and more. “Although, our initial strategy was to start with an online store, we decided to offer an experiential choice to our customers. The look and feel of the products helps them make a more informed decision,” she reveals.
Going forward, their aim is to open four more stores in the city and 10 more across India by 2025. “We are also planning to launch our online store soon,” she signs off.
