Designer Nidhi Singh’s upcoming collection might offer respite to those who love the whole nine-yards but find draping a sari a tad too difficult. She is launching her new collection of fusion ensembles in two weeks which will include pant saris. “I wanted to mix global and traditional influences for my next collection, Wandress,”  says Nidhi. The Gurgaon-based designer who spearheads the label Nidzign Couture moved to India last November. She started her label in Dubai in 2013,  but  has been retailing here for over a few months now.

She pays keen attention to individualistic details,” which is why you can spot ample drapes and rich layers in her designs. Also, expect skirts and a combination of tops etched with motifs inspired by the monsoon, such as water drops and umbrellas. The predominant colours in the collection are pink, peaches, plums and crimson. Along with working on her new line, she is also making new additions to her existing one of embellished jumpsuits. Titled Rhapsody, the green jumpsuits have a definite vintage aesthetic. “I attempted to take my patrons to the days of French royalty, with designs inspired by Marie Antoinette,” informs Nidhi, adding that she has incorporated pearls, golden bugle motifs and capes to add to the depth of her theme.

While the ensembles from Rhapsody are available on online platforms such as Aza Fashions, patrons in Hyderabad can place their order for outfits from Wandress on Facebook and Instagram from her upcoming line, starting mid-July.
