Ibhaa, the Bangalore based online label brings sustainable textiles and handcrafted accessories in an all new exhibition to the city.
Ibhaa's second exhibition at Coimbatore

When Abhinaya Chandran decided to exhibit her handmade jewelery for the first time two years ago, little did she know that she would come back home with nothing left. The brain behind the online label Ibhaa, the 24-year-old is all set for her second exhibit in the city, with the focus this time around being handloom in addition to handcrafted jewellery and organic soaps.

Pulse of the market

"Along with the accessories, I had brought around 25 pieces of clothes in five different designs all of which were sold immediately and that’s when I realised I should concentrate more on apparels”, says the Bengaluru-based entrepreneur. Ibhaa is known to promote eco-friendly designing, preserving Indian textile designs and reinventing them for the cosmopolitan market. Expect sarees, kurtis, gowns and skirts with ethnic and contemporary designs, predominantly in cotton, linen and silk. Add a small handcrafted contraption to your bathing cabinet with their organic soaps made of charcoal, turmeric and honey among others.

One of a kind

Among the 20 odd manufacturers of polymer clay accessories, Ibhaa imports its raw material from the United States. “We do not design accessories on a large scale here. The pieces are made to order and each piece is unique as the customer chooses what they want to see," adds Abinaya who calls herself a designer by experience rather than qualification. Hardly a year old, Ibhaa now has more than 500 customers, with heavy traffic on social media. The launch of Ibhaa's official website is set to happen within the month.
