Sparkle central: Curated for Kochi

Expects segments featuring antique gold and uncut diamonds at this week-long event by Kirthi Diamond Jewellery
Sparkle central: Curated for Kochi

Staying in vogue involves constantly updating one’s style. However, keeping up with the multiple trends that are ruling the accessories department ranging from dainty rose gold pieces to statement jewellery featuring antique gold isn’t easy. Knowing how exhausting the task can be, this city-based retailer is offering us an easy solution; a curated exhibition showcasing unique pieces collected from across the country. Boasting of over 30 decades of background in the business of bridal bijoux, Kirthi’s event has been put together by Shekhar Viswanath, a Gemological Institute of America alumnus, in association with entrepreneurs Vinodini Viswanath and Viswanath Menon. “Apart from designs handcrafted by our artisans in-house, we will also present collections encrusted with uncut stones sourced from places like Mumbai and Ahmedabad,” begins Viswanath Menon, who launched the concept store in 2006.

Set in stone
A result of their travels across India, Kirthi’s antique gold ensemble sports traditional motifs such as peacocks encrusted with rubies and emeralds. The highlights here include segments such as pakshi and jadau—listed under the uncut diamond section—as well as navratna jhumkas and necklaces. “We have also included lightweight jewellery featuring combinations of rose gold and white gold dotted with minimal floral and geometrical motifs in order to keep up with the younger crowd,” shares Vinodini, adding that the quality and colour of their diamonds are kept at VVS1 EF grade. While there, be sure to ask for customisation options, which vary depending on sections.
